BLUUM LORE

RACE

Bluum belongs to the Sheikah race, present in some of the games from the Zelda franchise.Bound for millennia to the protection of Hyrule’s royal family, they are recognizable by their ruby-red eyes, pale complexion, and sometimes their silver or jet-black hair. In their features lies the heritage of a lineage shaped by knowledge and vigilance. Their culture, woven from age-old traditions and secret rituals, draws as much from the art of discretion as from the mastery of advanced technology. In Hyrule’s ancient tales, long before the troubled times of the Calamity Prophecy, the Sheikah already held a unique place in the shadows of the royal family. Present in the legends of the Era of Twilight as well as the Era of the Hero of Time, they seldom appeared in the open, preferring to act as messengers, spies, and unseen protectors. In Ocarina of Time, they were personified by Impa, an emblematic figure and loyal advisor to Princess Zelda, guardian of secrets few could even suspect. Other accounts, such as those told in the chronicles of Skyward Sword, speak of their role as spiritual guides, capable of crossing the boundaries of time and space to lead the hero toward his destiny.Today, the Sheikah mostly live in remote villages like Kakariko, preserving a humble and discreet way of life, though their loyalty and talents remain sought after by those who know their true worth. Bluum is part of this lineage. Like her ancestors, she carries the memory of a people who watch the world from behind the scenes, ready to act when light alone is no longer enough to drive back the darkness.

ORIGIN STORY

Bluum is known in her village as a curious and persistent archaeologist, always ready to venture where few dare to tread. Though she does not enjoy great fame, she travels across Hyrule driven by a deep desire to uncover the mysteries of her own people, the Sheikah, and to understand the forgotten parts of their history. Her determination, however, contrasts with her nature — Bluum is a great coward at heart, quick to worry and prone to tears in the face of danger… yet she always manages to find, deep within herself, the strength to push forward, carried by a quiet but undeniable courage. She was born and raised in Kakariko, enjoying a peaceful childhood surrounded by loving parents and a close circle of friends. It was there that she developed her passion for ancient stories and distant eras — a fascination that fuels her enduring interest in the passage of time and its mysteries. Born of a union between a Sheikah and a Hylian, Bluum possesses a rare trait: delicate pink eyes, a mark of her mixed heritage.Gifted in reading and writing Ancient Hylian — a skill few still possess — Bluum often immerses herself in ancient texts preserved in long-forgotten libraries. It was during one of her research sessions that she came across a legend that struck her deeply: the tale of a Hylian woman who traveled through countless lands in search of her vanished lover. The story, fragmented and incomplete, spoke of perilous journeys and remarkable encounters, yet ended abruptly… leaving the fate of the traveler shrouded in mystery.Intrigued by this account and convinced that it conceals an unknown chapter of Hyrule’s past, Bluum decides to leave Kakariko. She is not alone on her journey: at her side is Mi, her loyal companion — a small, lively, and watchful creature, always ready to warn her of danger or uncover a hidden clue. Together, they cross plains, forests, and ruins, following the faint traces left by the legend while uncovering new stories buried in stone and memory. For Bluum, this quest is not only about seeking an ancient truth. It is also a way to weave a bridge between the past and the present, to understand what it means to belong to a people who live in the shadows, and perhaps, one day, to find the love she has always dreamed of.

TRIVIA

  • Bluum’s favorite drink is strawberry milk, sometimes with coffee. Her picky side makes her refuse the beverage entirely if it’s missing that sweet addition.

  • She has a small addiction to sugar, which leads her to snack very, very often.

  • Her meeting with Mi happened when she was just a little girl, after falling into a ravine. While following some Koroks, they found each other and have been best friends ever since.

  • Bluum has only recently learned to read Ancient Hylian, which sometimes causes her to make translation mistakes. She learned the language by studying very old stone tablets, often unearthed from underground.

  • Despite her bravery, she lives with hypersensitivity, making her extremely sensitive both physically and emotionally.

  • Bluum’s dream is to find love, but the one dream she never speaks of is her wish to travel through time — for fear that others would mock her.
